Hi, I'm Luke. sometimes known as Lenlow. That's me on the left there, about 5 years ago. Hey, redesigning websites is a pain. Anyhoo, I live in Boston. I do computer stuff for a living. My hobbies include making mashups and playing them out live. Go over to my music page for that stuff. Or hang out here and listen to me blog. Since most of my free time is music-oriented, that tends to be what I blog about. You've been warned.

The Red Sox won the World Series.
This is... very strange.
I am... very tired.
But also... very happy.

Here's a very cool site: Newseum.org. A collection of hundreds of daily newspapers' front pages from today.

Wait a sec... the Sox aren't on every single front page in the country? Eh, wait till tomorrow.

I'm so excited. And I just can't hide it. I'm about to lose control. But you know what? I think I like it.

In case you hadn't heard, the Red Sox won their seventh straight playoff game last night. It's getting to be like the Pats. Everyone just kind of expects them to win. Now there's a sentence that has never been uttered before this October.

If you're looking for a pre-game diversion tonight, tune in to the French radio station Oui FM. Between 6:00 and 7:00 EST (or is it EDT) mon ami DJ Zebra has a show. In fact he has a show every single day at that time. But he told me today he'd be playing my Marvin Gaye mashup. That was nice of him.

Allez Sox, allez Sox......

The Bootlympics voting is up. So go vote for your favorite!

I've been waiting a little bit to post because I wanted to share a new tune I made. It's for stage 2 of the Bootlympics, which I thought would be open for voting yesterday, but it ain't open yet. I'll keep you posted.

So... how bout them RED SOX? What a weekend for New England. The Sox won the first two games of THE WORLD SERIES. (Is this really happening????) The Patriots won their record 21st straight game. Even the Revolution are getting in on the act, upsetting the Columbus Crew in the MLS semifinals.

Awesomeness. I mean, what could possibly go wrong? We're up 2-0! Oh wait, that's how we started in 1986. But I think it's for real this time. I believe! I kept the faith! Who's your Papi? etc.

I saw De La Soul last night; that was pretty great. The show was exactly like it was last fall, not that there's anything wrong with that... but their new album doesn't do a whole lot for me. Sounds more like other hip hop of today. Which tends to suck. Oh and being from Strong Island, De La are avid Yankee fans. During the show they'd throw "Red Sox" into a rhyme in order to rile up the crowd, but it wasn't till the show was over where they got overly pro-Yankees. It was ridiculous how they were waving their NY hats around as if the Red Sox had not just completely destroyed the Yankees less than a week ago. Laughable.

Go Sox.

The Sports Guy came through with a great article about last night, like I knew he would.

"I almost started crying that inning," Sully said after it was over. "Is this what it feels like to be a girl?"

Ha.

YYYYYYEEEEEEEE AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!

THE SOX WIN THE PENNANT!
THE SOX WIN THE PENNANT!!!!!

Discuss.

Actually I don't think I'll go to Germany. I think I'm gonna save my money instead. I can be enough of an international bastard in Korea and Japan. And I'm not going to delude myself that I'm a DJ. Not yet anyway...

So I'll put my "set" on hold, and instead I can focus this week on stage 2 of the Bootlympics. By Monday I have to come up with something that samples a Nirvana song other than "Smells Like Teen Spirit". Any suggestions? And I also have to churn out a Janet Jackson mashup by Halloween, for some other project.

Another day, another walk-off game-winning hit by David Ortiz. Dat boy's good. He's the only player to ever have two walk-off home runs in the same postseason. And now he's got three walk-off hits in the same postseason. (Two in the same calendar day!) I look forward to him adding to that total when the World Series rolls around. Tonight, look for the Sox to continue their surge to become the first baseball team to ever come from 3-0 deficit in a best-of-7 series. 8:19. Rumble in the Bronx. Yanks vs Ortiz. I mean Red Sox.

Exciting news... I'm going to Germany next month for a long weekend. I'll be in the town of Trier, at the annual event entitled International Bastard. A couple dozen bootleggers from the greater Europe area all get together and hang out, and they all get to DJ. So the guy in charge (same guy who got that vinyl together) said he'd get me a half-hour "VIP" DJ slot since I'd be the first person to come from the USA. (Little does he know I've never DJ'ed before...)

So that's exciting. And now I'm working on my set, so when I get there I can just press play and stand there. I've got about ten minutes so far.. and if you're surfing the web this evening, tune in to Radio Freedom between 5 and 6 pm Eastern time. Tone's going to play it on his show.

Look what's arriving in the mail this week: ten of these bad boys:

Now if only I had a record player...

Unky Tom was right... pride goeth before a WALK OFF HOME RUN. David Ortiz, specifically. What a great game that was. And what an exciting week this will be: Tuesday begins the American League Championship Series. Red Sox vs Yankees. Here's hoping the outcome is a little different this year than last. I like our chances. GO SOX!

I got to go to the Pats game yesterday, and that was pretty cool. First football game I've ever been to, if you can believe that. I guess I picked a good one too; the Pats set an NFL record 19 straight wins. All the announcers keep saying "it will be a long long time until this record is broken." And I'm all... yeah, if seven days is a long long time. GO PATS!

Oh, and I'm definitely going to the Far East after Thanksgiving, on business. Ten days in Seoul, Osaka and Tokyo. Very exciting. GO OSAKA KINTETSU BUFFALOES!

Sox are lookin' gooood. Now if I could only figure out if I want the Twins to beat the Yankees now, or just let us do it next week.

My Gmail broke last night. I can't read or send any emails from it. Let's hope the Google support team is responsive. So if there's something you really want to tell me, you could mail me at lenlow1@hotmail.com.

UPDATE: OK it's fixed now.

Hmm, I haven't updated in a while, eh? Since we last chatted, let's see... I went to Annie's sister's wedding in Cleveland. That was very fun. The Red Sox made the playoffs. That was very cool (Game 1 @ Anaheim today 4:00). I might be going to Japan on business in November. That would be very cool. My "unreleased" Radiohead vs Katie song was played on internet radio again last night, and in the audience (and the chat room) was a rather influential individual who said he liked the tune and loved Katie's voice. So maybe a pella request will ensue, we shall see. I have two tunes in the top ten over at CDX2. Very cool site by the way... like a pop chart for mashups and remixes, and a great place to find a mashup you're looking for. But the data may not be too reliable for this week's chart, since the site just re-launched and not much voting happened I think. Still, it was cool seeing my name up there. So all these things were very cool... but to somewhat balance out that coolness was the very sad news of a good friend's loss of a family member. I haven't felt this sense of "why do bad things happen to good people" in a long long time.
