Hi, I'm Luke. sometimes known as Lenlow. That's me on the left there, about 5 years ago. Hey, redesigning websites is a pain. Anyhoo, I live in Boston. I do computer stuff for a living. My hobbies include making mashups and playing them out live. Go over to my music page for that stuff. Or hang out here and listen to me blog. Since most of my free time is music-oriented, that tends to be what I blog about. You've been warned.

I'm a huge De La Soul fan. That said, I probably would not pay over a hundred bucks to go shopping with them in NYC. Unless you replace "NYC" with "Boston" and "go shopping" with anything.

The votes are in for round 1 of the Bootlympics, and my tune was one of the two out of four that made it to the next round. So that's cool. "Leave The Healing Up To You" is also now available on my Music page.

You may notice I decided to bring back the donation button over on my music page, at least for a little while. Mostly because I had to pay for more bandwidth... which is a good sign that more and more people are downloading my tunes. So if you like what I make, feel free to drop a dime in the tip jar.

I'm toying with the idea of doing an internet radio show. I think it would be fun.

My coworkers just took me out for some birthday Chinese food, and the waitress spilled a giant glass of Coke all over me. Then she proceeded to laugh about it. I may have caught a "sorry" in there somewhere, but I mostly just heard laughing. I guess I didn't get the joke.

Oh, but I did LOL later when my fortune cookie said "Kiss the person sitting next to you." I don't think Scott would have appreciated that.

Speaking of food, here are three restaurants in the greater Boston area that I recommend very highly. Wicked good, if you will.

1) Deluxe Town Diner in Watertown. Their brunch is amazing (breakfast served all day). Awesome coffee, awesome omelettes (you can put cream cheese in them), awesome pancakes, awesome english muffins, awesome OJ. And it's not even as expensive as other brunches.

2) Green Street Grill in Central Square. Excellent Caribbean food. I forget what was so good that I ate, but.... wow. Some sort of fish. Oh and plantains.

3) Ariadne's in Newton. Just ate there last night and loved it. Save this one for a special occasion though; it's rather pricy. And to go along with that, it seemed a little snooty too. Ooh, I can choose distilled water, sparkling water, or tap water. And they gave us a tiny cup of watermelon juice for some reason. The braised lamb and gnocchi were delicious, but I advise you stay away from the chilled corn soup my bro got... it smacked of cleaning solution.

My weekend was OK. Got to see RJD2 Friday night; he's that DJ I saw in April who uses four turntables and no headphones. Once again, awesome. I got to meet him briefly, when he was selling his own merchandise before the show. Seems like nobody knew it was him. After he went to go play I gave a Lenlow CD to his assistant... here's hoping she didn't just throw it away. I wish I had written on it that he could request a capellas from Katie.

Other than the concert, all I did was play with music. I'm taking part in a little experiment called the "Bootlympics", which is like a mash-up tournament. My group of six people had exactly one week to each come up with something, and our only guideline was "quiet storm". I like what I came up with... you'll be able to hear (and vote) on Wednesday (I think) at Boot106.

Here's a fascinating site all about the art of the footbag (a.k.a. hacky sack). In most of the video clips I can't even tell what's going on. Here's video of the 15-year old 2002 world champion, from Prague. Takes a while to load, but it's worth it.

Oh and you may want to wait till after work to play this great game: Lightning Pool. Because you won't get any work done for a while.

And Thursday's my birthday.

It was cool to hear my tune on French radio last night... he had an outdated version of the song, but that's OK. He started his show with it! Big up DJ Zebra! If my Francais is what it used to be, his show is on every day at that same bat-time, same bat-place I mentioned in the previous post.

Now enjoy some fun with javascript.

Hey everyone... tonight at 6 pm Eastern time, DJ Zebra from France has a radio show (midnight in France). He's the same guy who let me know one of the guys from Daft Punk liked my Daft Punk mashup. Anyhoo, DJ Zebra just let me know he'll be playing my "To the Taxmobile" tune! That was nice of him. You can listen to it live on http://www.ouirock.com (click on "Ecoute Oui FM en live").

Dude. Check out this picture of Hurricane Ivan, taken from a space station.

How frustrating... yesterday I made a mashup that features Katie. And I really like it. But the problem is I can't share it yet. Know how I made "Peter Panic and the Wolf" for Parkspliced, the Blur remix/mashup project? Well now some people are doing the same thing for Radiohead's "Hail to the Thief". And I had an assignment. And that's what I made yesterday, after a lengthy period of masher's block. And I really like it. But I think it won't be "released" for another month or so. Bummer.

But anyhoo, Saturday's wedding was perfect! Everything went well, everyone had fun, and I didn't screw up! It was a beautiful and fun day, made even better because Annie (my girlfriend) was in town for the weekend, after having been confined to the greater Cleveland area for several weeks. So maybe I'll share some wedding pictures if I come across some. Congrats Bob & Julie!

I love the interweb. Every Monday and Tuesday nights I try to tune in to the internet radio station Radio Freedom. It's fun because a couple English mashup DJ acquaintances have shows on there, and they play some mashups. And there's a chat room. And last night EssexBoy played DJ Cal's song that featured Katie singing. So that was very cool. (Katie, now you can tell everyone you've been played on the radio.) Big up EssexBoy!!!

Also, Katie got to record a couple a capellas last night, and they came out great. They were requested by a couple DJ's who have record labels... so that's kind of awesome. (Thanks to Zim for the studio time & vocal engineering.) Big up Zim!!!

Oh and while I'm sharing links... I've been told that April has a website (she's the one whom Katie helped sing "Moses", which is over on my music page). So check it out. Looks like she's got herself a healthy little music career! Big up April!!!

In other news, I have my first ever DJ gig Saturday. No, I won't be spinning and scratching vinyl in front of hundreds of ravers... I'll be pressing "play" on my laptop for my friends Bob & Julie's wedding. So that'll be fun! Big up me! Big up Bob and Juju!

I got an email from DJ Cal from Sweden this morning... he just finished a mashup featuring Katie and it is EXCELLENT. He mixed Katie's "Little By Little" with an Ashanti song, and somehow turned a sassy blues tune into a sweet and soulful R&B hit.

DJ Cal - Rock a Little With You

Also, visit DJ Cal's website for some more high-quality mashups. I think my favorite of his is the one with Britney's "Toxic".

If you already downloaded my "To the Taxmobile" song, I strongly suggest you do it again. I fixed some chords that were off (which I hadn't realized before), fixed the pitch of the Beatles, and made some other small tweaks.

There are a couple new additions to my music page. I acquired a pretty song Katie sang with her friend April a long time ago called "Moses". Check it out.

And I finished a new mashup: "To the Taxmobile!". Go get it!
