Hi, I'm Luke. sometimes known as Lenlow. That's me on the left there, about 5 years ago. Hey, redesigning websites is a pain. Anyhoo, I live in Boston. I do computer stuff for a living. My hobbies include making mashups and playing them out live. Go over to my music page for that stuff. Or hang out here and listen to me blog. Since most of my free time is music-oriented, that tends to be what I blog about. You've been warned.

I'm back. I'm alive and well. Belize was unbelizable. Ha ha ha. But I'm so happy to be at work right now... just like I was so happy to get up this morning and clean snow off my car. But anyway, I can't write much today because I got pooploads of work to do, and this evening I'll be watching the Red Sox opening game against the mighty Devil Rays. Speaking of devil rays, a week ago today I was frolicking with devil rays in the pee-warm Caribbean water. My only hope is that watching Devil Rays from Bob and Julie's hot tub will be almost as exciting, and that the water will be warmer than pee.

Many pictures and extensive vacation coverage to follow on LenLowLand, the definitive source of things that happen to me. This week's topic: the shock and awe of being embedded in the pee-warm Caribbean. When news breaks out, I break dance.

In the meanwhile, peep Menlow's photojournalistic coverage of Kenlowpalooza '03.

Everyone head over to GenesConnected.com, and divulge all your personal information! I did! We'll map the whole world's genealogy! Exclamation point! Two hours till vacation...

On Sunday Adrienne and I are leaving for a week-long vacation in Belize. It's gonna be great. Unless I suffer from interweb withdrawal, I probably won't be updating too much... y'know, as usual. So I thought I'd put these pictures up so you don't have to wait till we get back. As you can see, we will be having a great time.

Here's me relaxing in a hammock. That's not a phone, it's a conch shell. I can hear the ocean! This is early in the week; you can see I haven't gotten any color. (Get it?)

Here is the lovely Miss Adrienne snorkelling. Look at the beautiful fishies!

Here we are enjoying a romantic sunset on the beach.

I forget where I heard this one... can you think of a common word that would be pronounced differently if its first letter were capitalized?

Wow, there's a 13-year old playing for the US under-17 soccer team. And he scores goals and stuff. Inter Milan wanted to sign him when he was 10.

That reminds me, why can't the World Cup be every year? I may have to go to Germany in 2006.

Last Friday I purchased a digital drum kit: this one here. I've had my eye on it for a while, but was always too scared to pull the trigger. The thing that convinced me to make up my mind was that I was able to use a 12-month payment plan with no interest, courtesy of Guitar Center. So I got that goin for me, which is nice.

I've been playing around with the kit quite a bit, and it's everything I hoped it would be. It's amazing how real the drum pads sound and feel. The sounds differ depending on how hard you hit them. You can hit a cymbal and then grab (or "choke") it to mute the sound. Just like in real life. It comes with 99 pre-set drum kits and the ability to make your own by assigning different sounds to different drum pads. It's a lot of fun. Not only can I listen to myself through headphones, but I can also play all my MP3's through the "line in" jack and still hear everything through my headphones.

Coming soon maybe: new song(s) of the week.

Until then, I'm thinking of a country whose nine-letter name can be split into three common three-letter words. What is it?

Um, what do you make of this? I suppose we'll find out tomorrow, eh?

Eh, maybe it won't be so interesting after all. Snopes is on the case.

I don't remember any dreams I may have had last night. I know you all refresh this page continually hoping for an update on the developing story "Do Luke's dreams determine the future", so I'm sorry to let you down.

I am currently spending over $600 for a new exhaust system on my car, and that is making me more apprehensive about expensive-toy-shopping sprees. I have also readjusted my expensive toy priorities: a digital drumset now comes first. I bid on a kit last night on Ebay, but I didn't win. I'm not too disappointed, given my auto repair expenditures. I've always wanted to be able to drum in my apartment, but size and noise considerations have prevented me from doing so. Digital drums are more portable and slightly smaller, and I can plug headphones into them, which is nice. It'll be nice getting to practice so much. And while the DN D-9000 (pictured below) is definitely sweeeeet, what if I'm not a good DJ? I know what I would want my stuff to sound like, but is there any way I would suck?

Well, I had another fun dream last night. We'll see if it comes true. To make a boring story short, I was taking part in some technology-themed blog where a few random people contributed. And it turned out that one of the participants was Bill Cosby, and I was the only one who knew it. Isn't that awesome?

Now to continue my streak of dreams coming true, I'll go see if jellopuddingpops.blogspot.com is available.

P.S. Birthday shoutouts to Kenlow

Here she is boys and girls, my next big purchase. This one has now taken priority over a digital drumset. I present to you... the Denon DN D-9000 Dual CD Player w/ Effects.

Last night I had a dream that I was playing with a souped-up turntable and it was awesome. I could put CD's on it and I could scratch just like vinyl... I could even scratch MP3's as they were playing. I wonder if such a machine exists or ever will exist, or only in my dreams.

UPDATE: Looks like the CD-scratching technology is already here. And that implies that it'll work for MP3's as well; I would just need to burn them onto a CD first. It can be mine for a mere grand.
