Hi, I'm Luke. sometimes known as Lenlow. That's me on the left there, about 5 years ago. Hey, redesigning websites is a pain. Anyhoo, I live in Boston. I do computer stuff for a living. My hobbies include making mashups and playing them out live. Go over to my music page for that stuff. Or hang out here and listen to me blog. Since most of my free time is music-oriented, that tends to be what I blog about. You've been warned.

If you find yourself in Columbia, South Carolina in the next few days, check out The Exhibition - Scenes from the Life of John Merrick. It's a two-person play, and my friend Dean plays John Merrick (the Elephant Man). "It will be presented entirely within a 10-foot square stage, with audience members seated on all four sides." That sounds kinda cool. I wasn't expecting that anyone could actually make it, but if for some reason you can, call 803-772-0414 or e-mail eman@440creative.com.

If you ever played (and enjoyed) the game "Puzzle Fighter" for PlayStation, then you will enjoy Yahoo's new game: "Toki Toki Boom". It's the same exact thing. It's a take-off of the Tetris variety, and you play online against other people.

That's odd, it's not as fun as I remember.

Weeeeee are the champions........ almost. The Cinderella story that was my ultimate frisbee team ("Spam") came to a halt Sunday afternoon when we lost in the finals. It was an amazing weekend, the most fun I've ever had playing ultimate. Special thanks to Bob and Stu for telling me "you know, you're probably not going to make your hamstring worse, if you just want to play through the pain." That was all I needed to hear to get me ready to play as much as I could, like the old days. I kept popping ibuprofen and drinking water and stretching and massaging... and it turns out I was able to run at top speed and almost completely ignore my hamstring. The only downside is that after a month of inactivity, I had kinda gotten out of shape. One day tournaments usually wear me out, but this was a two-day affair in 90+ temperatures. In the finals on Sunday, our seventh game of the weekend, I was spent. I was disappointed that I couldn't play my best in the finals, but I was also happy to be alive on the sidelines.

Saturday we won all four of our games. We were pretty ecstatic just to have accomplished that, since our last two opponents were rather talented. The funniest part of the weekend may have been a play by Katie in that fourth game, when she threw a hurried forehand to the end zone that fluttered and died. As soon as she released it and saw it was no good she yelled "UGLY LIKE YOUR MAMA!" and as soon as she said that Jimmy made a diving catch of the swill for the score. It was funny. Especially watching it on tape afterwards. Oh that's another excellent thing about the weekend is that it was all caught on tape by our fallen comrade Schaff, who was out for the season after ACL surgery. Even cooler was that he played several points in the finals (he's at the end of his rehab). So anyway, that fourth game had an excellent ending too, when Jimmy made a highlight reel catch (as usual) to keep the possession alive, then his pass was deflected and Krak came out of nowhere to grab the disc and keep the possession alive, then Krak tossed it to RedBill for the easy score. It was a great point that served as the perfect ending of an improbable undefeated day.

Sunday morning our first game was against the Ants, an archrival of ours made up of mostly high-school age kids who somehow had all the throws down on top of being able to run and run and run. Kids these days. They had beaten us earlier in the season, injuring my hamstring in the process. And this time it was do or die for Spam. This was the game that felt the best for me personally because I shut down their tall dude on defense when I was in there. On top of that, I had one of my top two career frisbee plays ever when I made a diving defensive block to stop the Ants on their own end zone, when it was our game point. That felt sooooooooooooooooo good. "That was for my hamstring!!!!!" No I didn't say that.

Our incredulity increased when we went on to beat the Dragons in the next game, a team which had also beaten us earlier that season. I think this is the game that really wore me out, because I chased around their superfast dude whenever I was in. Oy. We took an 8-4 lead at the half, then gave up five straight points, then after getting our poop together we finally finished them off. More celebrating. Spam was in the finals!

Our opponents were Woods Hole. Another team that beat us this summer. I wasn't there, but word on the street was they were the best team Spam had ever faced. And now I believe it. I was so proud to see that we never gave up... we fought hard and were defeated 15-9. But we were not disappointed. Every single player contributed this weekend, and everyone gave their all. And every other sports cliche probably applies too.

Hooray for Spam!

There, I compiled a little list of my favorite online games. I'll link to it on the left so you can always have easy access to time-wasting goodness.

Why have I not heard of Slamball before now??? Check out the video clip on that site. Don't bother with the video game.

Yippee, more fun games. Soap Bubble is really good-looking and good-playing. I thought it had a great techno soundtrack too, until I realized that was just my Spinner going in the background. Use the arrow keys to steer.

And then there's Emu Lander. Not bad.

I think I might create a "games" page here at LenLowLand, as much for my benefit as yours. I got that idea (and these two games) from Not My Desk. And if you've never been to that site, check it out. Funny poop.

Wow, this is very funny. Date my sister. No, not MY sister. This guy is crueler (in a mischievious way) to his sister as an adult than I ever was as a child/adolescent. Genius!

And here's a fun game to play: Pongling. My high score is 184.

You know those magic tricks that are supposed to involve mind-reading and psychic powers and whatnot? Here's an online version that impressed me at first, then I figured out why it worked.

Ah, nostalgia. Check out these Saturday morning cartoon listings from the '80s. (Other decades also available on that site.) I can almost track from memory what we'd watch from 8 to noon each year. Everyone remembers classics like the Gummi Bears, but I never thought I'd hear some of these titles again: "Land of the Lost", "Monchichis", "Dr. Fad", "The Misadventures of Ed Grimley"...

Wait a minute, why do I remember Eek the Cat? Please tell me I wasn't watching Saturday morning cartoons when I was in high school... hmm... it must have been little sis.

My Mom used to think that the "F" and "S" settings on her windshield wipers stood for "Frequently" and "Seldom".

If you have a blog, head on over to BlogTree. It's like a genealogy of blogs that operates under the assumption that blogs generally have a "parent" blog from which the idea of the blog came. Blog blog blog blog blog. Whatever. Could be interesting... or not.

This Random Word Generator isn't quite as cool as I thought it would be. The only remotely interesting words I created were "lukewash" and "lenlowist".

What obscure band are you? [via parallaxview]

Funny, I don't remember a "do some people think you're a fool" question...

Speaking of me being a fool, have you ever walked out of a store after paying for merchandise, only to leave without said merchandise? I have. I believe the last time was this morning at Dunkin Donuts.

TGIF. That's for sure. And happy birthday Matt.

The Monterey Ranch Chicken Sandwich was all I remembered it to be. I had two for lunch yesterday... wonder if I can buy in bulk. Try it some day.

The Sox lost huge to the Rangers last night, 19-7. Carl Everett had 7 RBI and two homers, and came about a total of five feet from having two more. He was all "I pity the fool who trade me away" and the Sox were all "I wonder if our fans are tired of us falling apart in August and September" and I was all "yes".

Thanks to Jo for lending me a heating pad and massage stick thing. They have already served me well. She also lent me a microwavable heating pad... should I wear a lead apron with that thing?

In other news, today I completed my first ever three-star crossword puzzle in Games magazine without making a mistake and without any outside assistance. Very satisfying. And as an extra bonus, I did it while driving to work, and I didn't get in an accident. Also satisfying.

O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay! I saw a Wendy's commercial last night that said they were bringing back the MONTEREY RANCH CHICKEN SANDWICH! There's no mention about it on wendys.com, however. I guess there's only one way to find out: 10:00 lunchtime it is. Go forth and eat that of which I spake. Dave Thomas would have wanted it that way.
